An effort by St. Michael's College Cherthala students to promote sustainable development by maximising the power of recycling. The college students pooled their collections of used books and sold them for recycling. The money made was used to support charitable initiatives. 17 trees and 7,000 gallons of water can be saved for every tonne of recycled paper. Air pollution and water pollution caused by paper production can also be prevented by promotion of recycling.
